Hannah Woolmer
Worldclass violinist, Composer for film & Media
Hannah Woolmer is already a highly regarded concert violinist and recording artist who is also now pursuing a career as a film composer. Her work is unmistakably unique, creating sound worlds that span genres. Her latest feature is the upcoming romantic comedy Love Online directed by American award winning filmmaker John Psathas, written and produced by Steven Cutts.
Other recent projects include Willem, written and directed by David Hastings which will open in the UK in January 2020 featuring a full orchestral score: Modern Dilemma, written and directed by George Tounas, which premiered in Germany in the summer of 2019, receiving 8 nominations in total at the Olympus and Global Shorts Los Angeles film festivals; Venari, written and directed by Scott Driver which was released in the UK winter 2019; and the horror movie. We Wait In The Woods, written and directed by Joe Duncombe for Mangled Media and premiering on 19th January 2020 (subsequent score release 31st January 2020).
Hannah trained at Trinity College of Music and London College of Music and after graduating undertook her first professional engagements as a soloist with The Cambridge Philharmonic Orchestra. She has since appeared in concert halls throughout the UK and Europe with a number of orchestras and chamber music groups. Her recording of Ralph Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending remains the 14th most downloaded classical track on Amazon and iTunes.
Her concert partnership with pianist Daniel Roberts has won much press and public appreciation as did their debut album L’Esprit Boheme - available on Amazon Music downloads. She has also released a re-evaluated version of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and there are other recording in the pipeline.
She established the Woolmer Philharmonic Orchestra in 2014, which subsequently was awarded both Arts Council and Heritage Lottery funding. In 2016 she was commissioned by The Royal Opera House to develop with them an educational programme for primary school children.
